Redefining Age

For Communities and Organizations

Helping older adults stay strong, capable, and engaged
in the lives they value.

COMPLIMENTARY consultation

Today’s older adults want more than simply to live longer. They want to remain active, independent, connected, and able to continue doing the things that make life meaningful.

Redefining Age partners with independent living communities, organizations serving older adults, and professionals committed to healthy aging to help make that possible.

Through strength training, education, assessments, and engaging group experiences, we help older adults understand how their bodies change with age — and what they can do to preserve the strength and physical capacity they need for the years ahead.

Because aging well is not simply about adding years to life. It is about having the strength and confidence to continue participating fully in life.

Why strength matters to independent living

Strength affects far more than the ability to exercise. It influences the everyday abilities that allow people to remain independent and confident —

  • Getting up from a chair
  • Climbing stairs
  • Walking comfortably
  • Carrying groceries
  • Lifting luggage
  • Getting down to and up from the floor
  • Playing with grandchildren or pets
  • Enjoying long walks or exercise
  • Moving through the world with greater confidence.

As we age, maintaining those abilities becomes increasingly important. Yet many older adults have never been taught why strength changes with age, how those changes affect daily life, or what they can do about them.

Redefining Age helps bridge that gap. We combine education with practical experience so participants understand not only what to do, but why it matters.

Beyond independence:
Strong for what?

At Redefining Age, we believe strength is the foundation — but it is not the destination.

We encourage participants to consider a simple question:

Strong for what?

For one person, the answer may be continuing to travel.

For another, it may be playing golf, gardening, walking with friends, keeping up with grandchildren, volunteering, enjoying cultural activities, or simply feeling confident moving through everyday life.

For others, strength represents something even more fundamental: maintaining the ability to make choices about where and how they live.

That connection between physical capacity and personal possibility is central to the Redefining Age philosophy.

We want participants not only to become stronger, but also to recognize what that strength makes possible in their own lives.

Programs that educate, engage,
and build confidence

Redefining Age programming is designed to meet older adults where they are
while helping them understand their capacity for continued improvement.

Programs can be offered as stand-alone educational experiences
or developed into ongoing strength and healthy-aging initiatives.

Educational Workshops

Engaging presentations introducing the physical changes associated with aging and the practical steps they can take to remain stronger and more capable.

Ongoing Progressive Training

Ongoing programming to help participants make strength training a sustainable part of their lives rather than a short-term activity.

Strength Foundations
Programs

Participants learn fundamental movements, proper technique, and how to exercise at a level appropriate for their current abilities.

Women’s Post-Menopause Education

Specialized programming to help women better understand physical changes and learn practical strategies for protecting their strength and vitality.

Functional Strength Assessments

Providing a useful starting point for recognizing progress over time — turning improvement into something participants can see and appreciate.

Individual
Coaching

For participants seeking additional support or want some guidance as they ask themselves questions about what they want from their life.

Supporting the larger mission of independent living

Independent living is about more than where someone lives. At its best, it is about preserving choice.

  • The choice to participate.
  • The choice to go places.
  • The choice to try something new.
  • The choice to remain socially connected.
  • The choice to continue doing things for yourself.

Physical strength supports those choices.

That is why Redefining Age sees strength training not simply as fitness programming, but as an important part of helping older adults remain engaged in their own lives.

Let’s create something meaningful
for your community.

Whether you are looking for an engaging educational presentation, a structured strength program, ongoing resident programming, or a new way to support healthy aging and independence, Redefining Age can work with you to develop an experience suited to your community and its goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. We begin gently, at a pace that feels comfortable, and build strength gradually. There’s no pressure and no judgment. You’ll be amazed by how quickly your confidence grows.

That’s very common, and I design every workout with your limitations in mind. You’ll receive modifications, alternatives, and supportive coaching every step of the way.

This is normal — and you won’t feel this way for long. My coaching style is warm, supportive, and completely judgment-free. I celebrate your progress, honor your pace, and help you feel proud of every step you take.

That is okay. Many exercises can be adapted using a chair or standing position. You’ll be encouraged to work at a level that feels safe and appropriate for your body.

I have a Personal Trainer certification with a Senior Fitness specialization through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM).

Most women begin feeling improvements within just a few weeks. More noticeable physical changes typically appear between 6–12 weeks, depending on your consistency and goals.

Very little. Most clients start with a pair of light dumbbells, resistance band, sturdy chair, and a yoga mat (optional). If you don’t have anything yet, we can begin with bodyweight exercises.

If you have a diagnosed condition or concerns about exercise safety, I will likely ask you to get medical clearance first. We discuss safety issues during our first meeting. This ensures you feel confident and supported before starting your program.

Just schedule a free consultation. We’ll talk about your goals, your comfort level, and what you hope to feel in your body. If it’s a good fit, we’ll create a personalized plan and take the first step together.

Make this the moment that you
see what’s possible as you age.
