When I got into my 60’s I started to recognize that I was, technically speaking, an “older woman”. I struggle with that because inside I still feel 30. Since feeling like an older woman didn’t come naturally, I would occasionally turn to Google for help with how a woman my age shows up in various facets of life.
What kept coming up were images of women that I didn’t connect with at all. I felt like I was being shown 60-year-old women from 1980. These women didn’t seem like any of the 60+ women that I know. They didn’t seem to carry any sort of vibrant vibe. Sure, we don’t look just like our 30-year-old selves but add some expression lines to our faces and changes in body composition, and you can recognize us.
We’re finally seeing some media focus about menopause, but not much about what comes next. My best friend shared with me recently that she was feeling sad and I asked if we could talk about it. As she began to unravel the layers of her emotions, at the heart of her sadness was the loss that comes with aging. People and pets that we love. Our physical and mental agility. No longer able to approach life with a naïve mindset that our days are infinite.
There’s something in me that can’t accept the story that it’s all doom and gloom after 60. I want to stay healthy, strong and active. I want to continue learning and expanding. I want my days to have meaning and my life, purpose. I want to age gracefully—inside and out.
That’s why I created Redefining Age — not just as a business, but as a movement and a mindset. It’s my way of helping women 60 and beyond see that this season of life isn’t the closing act. It has the potential to be our most powerful chapter yet.
My Personal Journey
Working out has been a part of who I am throughout my entire adult life. My commitment to fitness stems heavily from being overweight as a child and up into my college years. Then one day I received a party invitation and realized that I was no longer willing to tolerate not feeling good about how I looked. So, I put myself on a weight loss diet that night and lost 40 pounds within a few months.
When I was in my mid-30’s, I discovered that the man I had been married to for a year and a half was having an affair with a woman he worked with. That night I confronted him, and he walked out on me at the end of our discussion. My life had turned upside down in just one day. I was devastated.
My pain drove me to libraries and bookstores, in search of any wisdom that would bring me hope. Through my reading I was introduced to New Thought spirituality, which teaches that an individual’s consciousness and attitude can influence their well-being. I not only survived that painful divorce, I thrived through my healing.
That discovery of wisdom laid a foundation of beliefs that would later play a role in my vision for Redefining Age.
What “Redefining Age” Really Means
To me, redefining age means rewriting the narrative that has been written for us.
It means seeing our bodies not as reminders of what we’ve lost, but as vessels for what’s still possible. And to be grateful for that.
It means refusing to let fear or other people dictate how we live, dress, move, or dream.
It means embracing strength, a key component for a healthy body and vibrant life.
When I lift weights, I feel unstoppable. When I nourish my body, I visualize longevity. When I quiet my mind through reflection, I connect with the wisdom that only time and experience can give.
This is what Redefining Age is about — nurturing the whole woman: body, mind, and spirit. It’s about unleashing the wisdom gained from our personal paths and celebrating the unique legacy that we will each leave behind.
Facing the Fears
Aging can stir up real fears, for sure. But there’s comfort to be found in talking about those fears. Somehow it helps knowing that we’re not alone. That another woman is anxious about the same thing.
We worry about losing independence, relevance, health, beauty, and sometimes, purpose. We watch people we love face challenges and wonder what our own future holds. These feelings are natural — and they’re okay.
But fear doesn’t have to be the driver. It can be the motivator to change how we think about and approach this next chapter.
The Mission Behind Redefining Age
Redefining Age was born from both my personal journey and a deep desire to help other women experience their own transformation.

My mission is simple: to make thriving after 60 the new normal.
An Invitation
If you’re reading this and something inside you is saying, “Yes — I want that too,” then this space is for you.
Whether you’re 60, 70, or beyond, you still have dreams to pursue, adventures to take, and strength to uncover. You still have time to feel amazing in your body and at peace in your heart.
Through Redefining Age, I’ll be sharing tools, stories, and strategies to help you do just that — from workouts and nutrition tips to mindset practices and soulful reflections.
Together, we’ll break through the limits that society — and sometimes we ourselves — have placed on what’s possible as we age.
Because you and I both know that this is not the end of the story. It’s the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
Let’s redefine what it means to be strong, well, and deeply alive — at every age.
