About the gentle start SESSION

We are offering a limited number of complimentary Gentle Start sessions.

This session is designed for women who have not been regular gym-goers. It is not a workout. It’s a thoughtful discussion intended to help you gain clarity about what you need to do to support your vision for the years ahead.

You don’t need to be ‘fit’ to begin. This is simply a place to start.

The Value of a Gentle Start
to Safeguard Your Future

Physical capability is the “gateway to independence”.

The natural aging process causes a gradual, involuntary decline in women’s strength, muscle mass, and muscle function.

Over time, this can contribute to:

  • Reduced strength and power
  • Functional decline
  • Reduced bone density
  • Decreased aerobic capacity
  • A gradual loss of confidence in balance and movement

The good news is that regular exercise—particularly resistance training—is highly effective in slowing or reversing this functional decline.

What Women Often Discover During A Gentle Start Session

One of the most valuable parts of the session is the awareness it creates. Women are often surprised to discover the beliefs they’ve had about beginning a weight training program are simply not true. Removing these barriers to improving health opens up new possibilities.

For example, we may discuss how:

  • It’s not too late or you’re not too old to start. Research shows that muscle can be built at any age, and resistance training can even reverse age-related muscle loss.
  • Strength training does not hurt joints. It protects them by strengthening the muscles that support the joints. Strength training is often recommended for reducing arthritis pain.
  • Weightlifting will not lead to a bulky physique. Building significant muscle mass is difficult for women over 60. Strength training will primarily creates strength, stability, and confidence, while enhancing metabolic health.
  • Cardio, walking, Pilates, or yoga is not sufficient for health. Lifting heavy weights can offer strength, bone density, and functional independence benefits that other practices cannot.
  • Strength training is not only for young people.Strength training is actually more crucial for women post-menopause to prevent bone density loss.

And from that awareness, meaningful improvements can begin.

Why Strength Matters
for Your Daily Life

Your strength and functional ability affects nearly every part of your day.

  • Carrying groceries
  • Walking confidently
  • Climbing stairs
  • Playing with grandchildren or pets
  • Traveling
  • Enjoying long walks or exercise

When functional strength is improved, these everyday experiences often become easier and more comfortable.

Strength training can be tailored to support your body where it needs it most.

Turning Insight into a Personalized Strength Plan

The information gathered during your Gentle Start session allows us to design a strength program specifically for you. Your plan may include exercises that:

  • Strengthen muscles that support better alignment
  • Improve balance and stability
  • Restore mobility in areas that feel restricted
  • Reduce unnecessary stress on joints

The goal is not simply exercise. The goal is helping you feel stronger, steadier, and more confident in your body.

Who This Gentle Start Session
is Perfect For

This session is designed for women who want to remain strong, steady, and confident in the years ahead. It may be especially valuable if you:

  • Feel less stable than you once did
  • Notice stiffness or discomfort in your neck, back, or hips
  • Have been inactive and are unsure where to begin safely
  • Want to improve your posture and overall strength

Most women I work with are not looking to become athletes. They simply want to feel strong, capable, and confident moving through their daily lives.

This session helps us determine the safest and most effective path forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. We begin gently, at a pace that feels comfortable, and build strength gradually. There’s no pressure and no judgment. You’ll be amazed by how quickly your confidence grows.

That’s very common, and I design every workout with your limitations in mind. You’ll receive modifications, alternatives, and supportive coaching every step of the way.

This is normal — and you won’t feel this way for long. My coaching style is warm, supportive, and completely judgment-free. I celebrate your progress, honor your pace, and help you feel proud of every step you take.

That is okay. Many exercises can be adapted using a chair or standing position. You’ll be encouraged to work at a level that feels safe and appropriate for your body.

I have a Personal Trainer certification with a Senior Fitness specialization through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM).

Most women begin feeling improvements within just a few weeks. More noticeable physical changes typically appear between 6–12 weeks, depending on your consistency and goals.

Very little. Most clients start with a pair of light dumbbells, resistance band, sturdy chair, and a yoga mat (optional). If you don’t have anything yet, we can begin with bodyweight exercises.

If you have a diagnosed condition or concerns about exercise safety, I will likely ask you to get medical clearance first. We discuss safety issues during our first meeting. This ensures you feel confident and supported before starting your program.

Just schedule a free consultation. We’ll talk about your goals, your comfort level, and what you hope to feel in your body. If it’s a good fit, we’ll create a personalized plan and take the first step together.

Make this the moment that you
see what’s possible as you age.
